Laws of Caretaker Robotics
All of our Caretaker Robots follow these laws, at the most basic level.
Harm None
No human or other animal shall be injured.
No human shall suffer economic harm: If Caretaker Robots are taking someone’s job, for example, they will be removed.
For example: Any task that would be inhumane to ask of a human or animal, such as removing broken glass from high-speed-rail lines, would instead be performed by a Caretaker Robot.
Artificial Ignorance
Our robots will never be smarter than they have to be in order to do their work.
For example: In order to Harm None, Caretaker Robots may query a central network for proper identification of wildlife.
Nature First
If there is a natural way to clean up a mess, that natural way shall be employed first.
For example: If toxins can be removed by growing mushrooms, Artificial Ignorance restricts the functionality of certain Caretaker Robots to planting and nurturing mushrooms.
